Mrs. Shirley Mae Davis Yarbough, age 89, departed this life and entered Eternal rest on Monday, January 19, 2026 at Roxboro Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Roxboro, North Carolina.
She was a native of Person County, North Carolina, born on May 18, 1936 to the late Mary Bradsher and the late Ezra Davis. She was a faithful member of Old Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Roxboro.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Frank Yarbough; sisters: Edna Humphrey and Margaret Trotter; and brothers: Arthur Davis, Sr., Linbyrd Davis, Andrew “Jackie” Davis, Ezra “Bug” Davis and Leo Davis.
Mrs. Shirley Mae Davis Yarbough leaves to cherish her memory her son Omar Raymond Yarbough; two granddaughters: Ania Yarbough and Dajah McClain; sisters: Stella Davis and Mary Ann Paylor (husband Fred); brothers: Franklin “Soul” Davis (wife Rebecca) and James “JC” Davis (wife Shirley); sister-in-law Helen Jones; “like a son” Carl Jones (wife Karen); three great-grandchildren: Kalaya and KaYomi Yarbough and Za’Novah Wilkerson; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
