Mr. Lester Springfield, Sr., affectionately known to family and friends as "Lucky Duck", age 97, transitioned to his Heavenly home on Friday, October 6, 2023 at Person Memorial Hospital in Roxboro, North Carolina.
Mr. Springfield was born on June 7, 1926, in Leasburg, North Carolina, to the union of the late Jack Springfield and the late Pearl Springfield.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn B. Springfield; daughter Deborah Jean Springfield; and sister Mary Mollie S. Bradsher.
Mr. Lester Springfield, Sr. leaves to cherish precious memories two daughters Joyce S. Bailey – his caregiver – of the home; Patricia S. Humphrey (Stanley) of Alton, Virginia; one son Lester Springfield, Jr. (Shirley) of Durham, North Carolina; seven grandchildren: Tarryl D. Springfield, Michelle L. Bailey, Trimeta O. Springfield, Maurice Richardson, Rodrick A. Springfield, Latisha M. Springfield and Stacy Williams (Nicole); nine great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; one brother-in-law Thurman R. Bradsher of Wycote, Pennsylvania; one sister-in-law Annie N. Bradsher of Roxboro, North Carolina; one niece Mary B. Reams of Durham, North Carolina; two nephews James L. Bradsher of Roxboro, North Carolina and Willie M. Bradsher (Linda) of Hillsborough, North Carolina; special cousins John P. Adams of Roxboro, North Carolina; Tina P. Russell (Anthony) and Wanda Poole, both of Vauxhall, New Jersey; Sara S. Scott of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; Ernestine S. Harris (Pastor Terrill) of Rock Hill, South Carolina; Leon Springfield (Joyce) of Burlington, North Carolina; and Wayne Springfield of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; and a host of additional relatives and friends.
