Deacon Daniel “Danny” Holmes transitioned from his earthly home to eternal rest on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 in Roxboro, North Carolina.
Deacon Holmes was born in Georgetown, South Carolina to the union of the late Henry Holmes and the late Catherine Mczeke. Upon his relocation to North Carolina, he became a member of First Baptist Church in Roxboro and served on the Deacon Board.
In addition to his parents, Deacon Holmes was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters and one grandchild.
Deacon Daniel “Danny” Holmes leaves to cherish his memory his wife Amelia Johnson Holmes of the home; one son Michael Holmes of Durham, North Carolina; three step children Sonia Joyner (husband Sherwin) of Knightdale, North Carolina; Carlton Bailey (wife Sheri) of Chesterfield, Missouri; and Shaye Hatchett (husband Terry) of Alton, Virginia; one sister Bertha Mae Funny (husband Henry) of Charlotte, North Carolina; two grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and loving friends.
