Mrs. Doris Smith Blackwell, age 92, of Roxboro and Rocky Mount North Carolina, took flight and entered her eternal rest and reward early Sunday morning on August 13, 2023 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

Her siblings, Martha Smith Simms, Ellis Smith, Drewery Smith, James Smith, Warren Smith, and Andrew Smith, all preceded her in death, along with their two cherished sisters, Elsie Marrow Lewis and Marie Marrow Tyler. Doris met and married the love of her life, the late Reverend Dr. Reuben Wallace Cooper Blackwell, on December 27, 1956 and began her own life of devotion to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, her family, and in service to her community.
