Mrs. Lessie Vivian McGhee Fields, age 99, entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 12, 2023 in Durham, North Carolina. She was a native of Person County, North Carolina – born on November 5, 1923 to the union of the late Freeman McGhee and the late Texsie Stamps McGhee.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Alex Davis Fields; four sons: Dwight McGhee, Ronald Fields, Donald Fields and Jeffrey Fields; granddaughter Beverly Fields; and three sisters Edith McGhee, Josephine McGhee and Harold Lee Hamlett.
Mrs. Lessie Vivian McGhee Fields leaves to cherish her sweet memory two daughters Jacqueline Matthews and Priscilla Fields, both of the home; four sons Alexander Fields of Raleigh, North Carolina; Horace Fields and Gordon Fields (wife Maria) both of Durham, North Carolina; and L. Lee Fields (wife Beverly) of Graham, North Carolina; seventeen grandchildren; numerous loving great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews; and a host of additional relatives and friends.
