Deacon John Wesley Perry, Sr., age 67, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at his residence in Roxboro, North Carolina.

Deacon Perry, Sr. faithfully served his Lord and Savior on the Deacon Board of Hyco Zion Baptist Church in Roxboro and his country in the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents the late Raymond Perry, Jr. and the late Gwendolyn Williams Perry; one son John Wesley Perry, Jr.; one sister Clara Perry Lester; and one brother Charles Perry.

Deacon John Wesley Perry, Sr. is survived by his wife Bernice Hamlett Perry of the home; one daughter Taletha Perry Elliott (husband Theo) of Roxboro; two sons Jonathan Perry of Roxboro and Justin Perry of Raleigh, North Carolina; two sisters Drucilla Johnson and Bertha Perry Graves, both of Roxboro; two brothers Perry Williams (wife Linda) and Raymond Perry (wife Ruth) both of Roxboro; sisters-in-law Barbara Smith of Greensboro, North Carolina and Bridget Hamlett of Roxboro; brothers-in-law Joe Lester and Melvin Hamlett both of Roxboro; one aunt Shirley Brown Robinson of Raleigh; one uncle Jerry Perry of Roxboro; six grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
