Ms. Constance Ernestine “Teenie” Battle, age 94, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at her home in White Plains, New York.
Constance, often referred to as “Connie” or “Teenie”, was born on October 22, 1928, in Leasburg, North Carolina to the late Margaret Paylor Murphy and the late Sandy Pulliam.
She was preceded in death by her Aunt Annie Paylor Carver and Cousin Richard Henry Paylor.
Constance joined St. James Baptist Church in Leasburg, North Carolina at an early age and attended Leasburg Elementary School. Afterwards, she moved with her mother to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she attended high school followed by nursing school. She became a Registered Nurse. Upon graduation, she decided to relocate to New York. After decades of taking care of others, she retired from Saint Agnes Hospital and gracefully lived out her retirement life.
Constance was a mother figure to many. She leaves to mourn her departure and to celebrate her legacy three nieces and their families: LaToya Paylor Richmond (Anthony) of Raleigh, North Carolina; Catherine Dionne Paylor of Leasburg, North Carolina; and Phyllis Evette Haith (Roger) of McLeansville, North Carolina; Cousin-in-Law Mary "Cat" Paylor of Leasburg, North Carolina; along with a host of additional cousins, relatives, neighbors and friends.
She has touched many lives throughout her time with us.
