Geneva Clayton Petty, age 70, of 2157 East Hyco Road in South Boston, Virginia passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at her home.
Geneva Clayton Petty was a member of the Prospect Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she was the president of the Missionary Circle, and a member of the Spiritual Choir, and the Culinary Committee. Geneva Clayton Petty is survived by two sons -- Steven J. Petty (wife Cynthia) of Roxboro, North Carolina and Stanley K. Petty of South Boston, Virginia. She is also survived by her brother, Ulysses Clayton of Asheboro, North Carolina; three sisters-in-law -- Aldean Petty of Florida; Barbara Petty of Washington, DC and Frances Petty of Michigan.; and two grandchildren – Cinzia A. Petty of Roxboro, North Carolina and Stavanna A Petty of Roxboro, North Carolina in addition to a host of additional relatives and friends.

Ira Roosevelt Pettiford, age 72, of Roxboro, NC passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017 at Person Memorial Hospital in Roxboro, North Carolina.
Ira Roosevelt Pettiford is survived by four children – Ira James Pettiford, Jr (wife Rita) of Roxboro, NC; Marvin Leon Pettiford of Hillsborough, NC; Tammy Tuck of Durham, NC; and Deborah Pettiford Carver of Greensboro, NC; two special children – Cynthia Scott and Fred Walker of Durham, NC. Ira Roosevelt Pettiford is also survived by 1 brother -- Doffin Pettiford of Roxboro, NC; 4 sisters -- Mary Miles of Roxboro, NC; Rose Pettiford of Trenton, NJ; Evangeline P Winstead of Roxboro, NC; and Carolyn Pettiford-Ryals (husband Fred) of Durham, NC. He is also survived by special friends Cora Bea Walker and Joe Pettiford and 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
