Geneva Clayton Petty, age 70, of 2157 East Hyco Road in South Boston, Virginia passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at her home.
Geneva Clayton Petty was a member of the Prospect Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she was the president of the Missionary Circle, and a member of the Spiritual Choir, and the Culinary Committee. Geneva Clayton Petty is survived by two sons -- Steven J. Petty (wife Cynthia) of Roxboro, North Carolina and Stanley K. Petty of South Boston, Virginia. She is also survived by her brother, Ulysses Clayton of Asheboro, North Carolina; three sisters-in-law -- Aldean Petty of Florida; Barbara Petty of Washington, DC and Frances Petty of Michigan.; and two grandchildren – Cinzia A. Petty of Roxboro, North Carolina and Stavanna A Petty of Roxboro, North Carolina in addition to a host of additional relatives and friends.

Mrs. Edith Virginia Thompson, age 87, of 139 Hickory Nut Road, Hurdle Mills, North Carolina, passed away on October 31, 2018 at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Mrs. Edith Virginia Thompson is survived by three daughters Lisa Torain (husband Arthur) of Hurdle Mills, NC; Brenda Wade (husband Reginald) of Hurdle Mills, NC; and Annie Welburn (husband Donald) of Roxboro, NC; three sons Jackie Evans and Darrell Thompson both of Hurdle Mills, NC; and Carl Blackwell of San Antonio, Texas; one stepson Lindsey Thompson of Hillsborough, NC; one special friend Minnie Paylor of Roxboro, NC; five grandchildren Shermaine Hamlett (wife Courtney), Tirraill Hamlett, Gabrielle Cameron, Autum Torain, and Austin Torain; eight great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and a host of additional relatives and friends.
