Mr. Robert Ira Pettiford, age 65, departed this life on January 7, 2020 at UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late Floyd Pettiford and the late Barbara A. Rogers Pettiford. He was preceded in death by two brothers Preston and Nathaniel Pettiford and one sister Doretha Daye.
Mr. Pettiford was a native of Roxboro, North Carolina and graduated from Person Senior High School as a member of the Class of 1972.
He is survived by one son Ira Preston Douglas (wife Stephanie) and one grand-daughter Ti’Aira Douglas all of Georgia; one brother-in-law Edward Daye; eight aunts Mamie Winstead (husband Carl), Glennie Carver, Frances Rogers, Gertrude Crutchfield, Rosa Torain (Walter), Eliza Torain, Alice Turner, and Odessa Poole (husband Stanley); one uncle Abraham Daye; two great-aunts Patty Torain and Bertha Rogers; one nephew Edward Daye, Jr.; two nieces Jennifer Daye and Natesa Daye; his best friend Greg Mohr; and a host of additional relatives and friends.
