Mrs. Mildred Bumphus Allen entered eternal rest on Sunday, March 22, 2020 at Person Memorial Hospital in Roxboro, North Carolina. She was a native of Person County and retired from the Person County Sheriff’s Department.
She was predeceased by her husband James Bryce Allen; one son Linwood B. Allen; four brothers Jake Thomas Bumphus, Clyde Allen Bumphus, JD Bumphus and Junior Bumphus; and two sisters Pearl Scott and Beatrice Carver.
She is survived by four (4) sons James “Butch” Allen and Gary W. Allen of Roxboro, North Carolina and Ronnie Winstead and Mike Winstead of Richmond, Virginia; two daughters Brenda A. Burrell of Roxboro, North Carolina and Shelia Winstead of Virginia; her twin brother John Elbert Bumphus (wife Shirl) of Roxboro, North Carolina; seven grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; her beloved dog “Irby”; and other relatives and friends.
