Sergeant First Class (Retired) Ernest Poole age 82, entered eternal rest on Friday, June 16, 2023 at Durham VA Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. He was a native of Person County, North Carolina and a member of Prospect Hill Baptist Church in Roxboro, North Carolina. He was a Decorated Veteran – serving in the Vietnam War and earning numerous honors and awards including the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Master Parachutist and Expert Infantryman as a proud member of the 173rd Airborne Brigade.
He was preceded in death by his parents James Wright Poole and Martha Rosilla Woods Poole; and brothers James Myrl Poole and Benjamin Poole.
Sergeant First Class (Retired) Ernest Poole leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Glamoree Williams Poole; daughters Tamika Poole (Roland) of Raleigh, North Carolina and Kenisha Poole of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina; sons Bertrend Poole and Ernest Levar Poole, both of Roxboro, North Carolina; grandchildren Justin Richards, RuShanna Williams, Jayla Richards and Takari Montgomery; sisters Margaret Poole Jones (Isaac) and Viola Poole, both of Roxboro, North Carolina; brothers John Poole (Bertha) of Columbia, South Carolina and Alexander Poole of Roxboro, North Carolina; five sisters-in-law; six brothers-in-law; and numerous loving nieces, nephews additional relatives and friends.
