Mrs. Katie Mae Shaw Farrish Harshaw, age 84, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Duke Hospice-Hock Family Pavilion in Durham, North Carolina. She was born in Person County. However, she made her home in Cedar Grove, North Carolina.
Mrs. Harshaw was preceded in death by her parents Alexander Shaw and Classie Jacobs Shaw; a son Franklin Farrish; five brothers Reverend Henderson Shaw, Alex Shaw, Willie Lee Shaw, James Shaw and Johnnie Shaw; one sister Josie Shaw Simmons; and one great grandchild Yario Farrish-Ramos.
Mrs. Katie Mae Shaw Farrish Harshaw leaves to cherish her memory four sons Herbert Farrish (wife Kathy) of Raleigh, North Carolina; Michael Farrish (wife Linda) of Durham, North Carolina; and Mark Farrish and Gregory Harshaw, both of Cedar Grove, North Carolina; four daughters Katie F. Hartsfield (husband Ray) of Durham, North Carolina; Gloria Farrish of Mebane, North Carolina; Gail Harrison (husband George) of Mebane, North Carolina; and Moesha Harshaw-Garrett (husband Tony) of Atlanta, Georgia; one foster daughter April Reed of Mebane, North Carolina; one brother Alvin Shaw of Hurdle Mills, North Carolina; two sisters Mildred Shaw Bradsher of Roxboro, North Carolina and Fannie Shaw Wade (the Late Ben) of Hurdle Mills, North Carolina; two sisters-in-law Mable T. Farrish of Hurdle Mills, North Carolina and Annie Farrish Perry of Roxboro, North Carolina; sixteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, additional relatives and friends.
