Geneva Clayton Petty, age 70, of 2157 East Hyco Road in South Boston, Virginia passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016  at her home.

Geneva Clayton Petty was a member of the Prospect Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she was the president of the Missionary Circle, and a member of the Spiritual Choir, and the Culinary Committee. Geneva Clayton Petty is survived by two sons -- Steven J. Petty (wife Cynthia) of Roxboro, North Carolina and Stanley K. Petty of South Boston, Virginia.  She is also survived by her brother, Ulysses Clayton of Asheboro, North Carolina; three sisters-in-law -- Aldean Petty of Florida; Barbara Petty of Washington, DC and Frances Petty of Michigan.; and two grandchildren – Cinzia A. Petty of Roxboro, North Carolina and Stavanna A Petty of Roxboro, North Carolina in addition to a host of additional relatives and friends.

Mrs Gladys Marrinial Winstead Barnett, age 73, of Durham, North Carolina passed away on Thursday January 4, 2018 at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina.  

Gladys Barnett is survived by her son William David Barnett (wife Leacha) of Largo, Maryland and her daughter Theresa Antoinette Barnett Woods of Roxboro, NC. She is also survived by two sisters – Rev Elena Dobson of Clinton, MD and Patsy Wilson of Clinton, MD; two brothers – Charles Winstead (spouse Sherion) of Roxboro, NC and Donald Winstead (spouse Donna) of Silver Springs, MD. Gladys Barnett is also survived by 3 grandchildren - Keith La'Mar Woods II (fiancé (Nijah), Kierra Le'Nette Woods, and William David Barnett, II; 1 great-grandchild - Nolan Ace Bryant, 1 step grandchild - Chasity McGhee and a host of additional relatives and friends.
