Geneva Clayton Petty, age 70, of 2157 East Hyco Road in South Boston, Virginia passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at her home.
Geneva Clayton Petty was a member of the Prospect Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she was the president of the Missionary Circle, and a member of the Spiritual Choir, and the Culinary Committee. Geneva Clayton Petty is survived by two sons -- Steven J. Petty (wife Cynthia) of Roxboro, North Carolina and Stanley K. Petty of South Boston, Virginia. She is also survived by her brother, Ulysses Clayton of Asheboro, North Carolina; three sisters-in-law -- Aldean Petty of Florida; Barbara Petty of Washington, DC and Frances Petty of Michigan.; and two grandchildren – Cinzia A. Petty of Roxboro, North Carolina and Stavanna A Petty of Roxboro, North Carolina in addition to a host of additional relatives and friends.

Mrs. Mattie Slade Woody, age 88, passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Woody; two sons, Stafford Slade and Frederick Slade; one sister, Reba Slade; three brothers, James Slade, Eugene Slade and Madison Slade; and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Mattie Slade Woody is survived by three daughters, Sheree Slade, Vanessa Slade Williams, and Linda Slade Poole all of Roxboro, North Carolina; four sons, Robert Slade and Kelvin Slade, Sr. of the home; Michael Slade of Roxboro, North Carolina; and John Slade of Burlington, North Carolina; two sisters, Carolyn Gomez and Annie Slade, both of Dayton, Ohio; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and additional relatives, and friends.
The family will be at 3030 Hurdle Mills Road in Roxboro, North Carolina.
