Geneva Clayton Petty, age 70, of 2157 East Hyco Road in South Boston, Virginia passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016  at her home.

Geneva Clayton Petty was a member of the Prospect Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she was the president of the Missionary Circle, and a member of the Spiritual Choir, and the Culinary Committee. Geneva Clayton Petty is survived by two sons -- Steven J. Petty (wife Cynthia) of Roxboro, North Carolina and Stanley K. Petty of South Boston, Virginia.  She is also survived by her brother, Ulysses Clayton of Asheboro, North Carolina; three sisters-in-law -- Aldean Petty of Florida; Barbara Petty of Washington, DC and Frances Petty of Michigan.; and two grandchildren – Cinzia A. Petty of Roxboro, North Carolina and Stavanna A Petty of Roxboro, North Carolina in addition to a host of additional relatives and friends.

Mrs. Gearline Bobbitt Yancey, born June 17, 1932, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Person Memorial Hospital in Roxboro. 

Mrs. Gearline Bobbitt Yancey was a native of Person County and a member of Lawson Chapel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents Romie and Mary Bobbitt, her husband John Dee Yancey, her son Larry Yancey, a daughter Debra Lynette Yancey, a sister Isabelle Hamlette, and a brother Romie Bobbitt, Jr.

Mrs. Yancey is survived by two daughters Yvonne Warren and Marguerite Cash and one son Earl Wayne Yancey all of Roxboro, North Carolina; one sister Shirley Bobbitt Clay of Toledo, Ohio; one sister-in-law Blondell Smith Bobbitt of Toledo, Ohio; six grandchildren Jonathan Warren, Demond Yancey, DeWayne Yancey, Erika Yancey, and Jerrikka Williams all of Roxboro, North Carolina and John Cash (wife Stacey) of Burlington, North Carolina; fourteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
