Geneva Clayton Petty, age 70, of 2157 East Hyco Road in South Boston, Virginia passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016  at her home.

Geneva Clayton Petty was a member of the Prospect Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she was the president of the Missionary Circle, and a member of the Spiritual Choir, and the Culinary Committee. Geneva Clayton Petty is survived by two sons -- Steven J. Petty (wife Cynthia) of Roxboro, North Carolina and Stanley K. Petty of South Boston, Virginia.  She is also survived by her brother, Ulysses Clayton of Asheboro, North Carolina; three sisters-in-law -- Aldean Petty of Florida; Barbara Petty of Washington, DC and Frances Petty of Michigan.; and two grandchildren – Cinzia A. Petty of Roxboro, North Carolina and Stavanna A Petty of Roxboro, North Carolina in addition to a host of additional relatives and friends.

Mr. Thornton C. Winstead, age 94, of Roxboro, North Carolina passed away on Tuesday, May, 8, 2018 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina.

Thornton Winstead is survived by two daughters – Sharon Winstead of Durham, North Carolina and Valencia Winstead of Laurel, Maryland. He is also survived by four sisters – Augusta Outlaw of Roxboro, North Carolina; Jettlean Pettiford of Durham, North Carolina; Thelma Taylor of Kernersville, North Carolina, and Savannah Lewis of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He is also survived by one grandchild - Jermaine Winstead; three great-grandchildren and a host of additional relatives and friends.

The family will receive visitors at the home of Mr. Thornton Winstead.
