Geneva Clayton Petty, age 70, of 2157 East Hyco Road in South Boston, Virginia passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016  at her home.

Geneva Clayton Petty was a member of the Prospect Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she was the president of the Missionary Circle, and a member of the Spiritual Choir, and the Culinary Committee. Geneva Clayton Petty is survived by two sons -- Steven J. Petty (wife Cynthia) of Roxboro, North Carolina and Stanley K. Petty of South Boston, Virginia.  She is also survived by her brother, Ulysses Clayton of Asheboro, North Carolina; three sisters-in-law -- Aldean Petty of Florida; Barbara Petty of Washington, DC and Frances Petty of Michigan.; and two grandchildren – Cinzia A. Petty of Roxboro, North Carolina and Stavanna A Petty of Roxboro, North Carolina in addition to a host of additional relatives and friends.

Mr. William Edward Thorpe, age 71, of Roxboro, North Carolina passed away on Thursday, March 1st at Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, North Carolina.

William Edward Thorpe is survived by four children – Kimberly Davis of Roxboro, North Carolina; Mr Shandale Wilson of Roxboro, North Carolina; Mr. Christopher Wilson of Roxboro, North Carolina; and Chelsea Harriston of Durham, North Carolina. He is also survived by four sisters – Christeen Torain of Roxboro, North Carolina; Patricia Hatchett of Roxboro, North Carolina; Shirley Burton of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; and Barbara Ann Murphy of Woodbridge, Virginia; three brothers – Lawrence Chester Thorpe of Cedar Grove, North Carolina; Jim Thorpe of Heathrow, Florida; and George Washington Carver Thorpe of Charlotte, North Carolina. He is also survived by four grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a host of additional relatives and friends.
