Mr. Joe Edward Richmond, age 85, entered eternal rest on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Roxboro Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. He was the son of the late William Lee Richmond and the late Lottie Belle Burton Richmond and a Veteran of the United States Army.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Marie G. Richmond, one son Michael Richmond, three sisters Maggie Lester, Mae Fannie Johnson, and Judy Newman, and a special cousin Mary Chavis.
He is survived by one daughter Attorney Debbie Thompson Smith (husband Tyrone) of Atlanta, Georgia; two sons James Johnson of Durham, North Carolina and Dennis Richmond, Sr. of New York; siblings Fannie I. Bradshaw of Timberlake, North Carolina; Benny Richmond, Joyce Moore and Dennis Richmond (wife Darlene) all of Burlington, North Carolina; special cousins Barbara Blaine and Robert Henry Fuller both of Roxboro, North Carolina; three grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, additional relatives and friends.
