Mr. Lafayette Poteat, age 62, entered eternal rest on Friday, August 11, 2023 at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He was a native of Person County but resided in Mebane, North Carolina. Lafayette was a member of Person Senior High School, “Class of 1979”.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bennie Lee Poteat and Katie Lou Harris Poteat; and his grandson Christian Lee Poteat.
Mr. Lafayette Poteat leaves to cherish precious memories his wife Angela Kenion Poteat of the home; daughter Tiffany Frausto (husband Ivan Rodriguez) of Graham, North Carolina; son Tre’ Poole (wife Laney) of Mebane, North Carolina; grandchildren Shanelle Green of Graham, North Carolina and Dorian Smith of Mebane, North Carolina; brother Junious Poteat of Roxboro, North Carolina; sisters-in-law Amanda Kenion of Raleigh, North Carolina and Sharon “Runky” Kenion of Hillsborough, North Carolina; his Masonic Lodge Brothers of Lodge Ammi #15 of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; healthcare team members of the Medical Intensive Care Unit of UNC Medical Center at Chapel Hill; co-workers of Chapel Hill Transit; co-workers of Harris Teeter in Greensboro, North Carolina; and his entire family who continuously showered him with their love, prayers and support.
