Walter Junior McGhee, age 80, departed this life on Sunday, January 15, 2017, at Duke Regional Medical Center in Durham, NC. “Jr.” was a native of Caswell County. He was the son of the late Walter McGhee Sr. and Fannie Garrett McGhee. At an early age he joined Saint James Baptist Church in Leasburg, NC. He retired from Murdoch Center in Butner, NC in June of 2001, and he was later employed by Wal-Mart Supercenter of Roxboro, NC
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Norris Jean McGhee of Roxboro, NC, four daughters Rosie Percell (husband David) of Sanford, NC, Carolyn Harris of Durham, NC, Abigail Stanfield of Roxboro, NC and Becky Hatchett of Roxboro, NC, and a granddaughter that he raised Latosha Stanfield of Burlington, NC, two sons Ruffin Stanfield of the home and Stacey Stanfield of Mebane, NC, three brothers Plymouth McGhee, Joe McGhee and Larry McGhee all of Durham, NC, two sisters - Sylvia Daye and Geraldine McGhee both of Durham, NC; five sisters -in -law Beatrice McGhee, Eula Pettiford, Linda Russell, Annie Stanfield and Martha Stanfield, two dedicated nephews David McGhee of Durham, NC, and Michael Hawley of Hurdle Mills, NC and a dedicated niece Jeanette Bailey of Durham, NC. He also is survived by 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
