Geneva Clayton Petty, age 70, of 2157 East Hyco Road in South Boston, Virginia passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016  at her home.

Geneva Clayton Petty was a member of the Prospect Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she was the president of the Missionary Circle, and a member of the Spiritual Choir, and the Culinary Committee. Geneva Clayton Petty is survived by two sons -- Steven J. Petty (wife Cynthia) of Roxboro, North Carolina and Stanley K. Petty of South Boston, Virginia.  She is also survived by her brother, Ulysses Clayton of Asheboro, North Carolina; three sisters-in-law -- Aldean Petty of Florida; Barbara Petty of Washington, DC and Frances Petty of Michigan.; and two grandchildren – Cinzia A. Petty of Roxboro, North Carolina and Stavanna A Petty of Roxboro, North Carolina in addition to a host of additional relatives and friends.

Maxie Lester, age 85, of 232 North Lamar Street in Roxboro, North Carolina passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Person Memorial Hospital in Roxboro, North Carolina.  

Maxie Lester retired from his employment with the City of Roxboro after 38 years of service.  Maxie Lester is survived by his wife Nannie Williams Lester and four children – Larry Darnell Lester of Roxboro, NC; Maxie Leondus Lester of Yonkers, NY; Jennifer Yvette Lester of Roxboro, NC; and Gloria Lester Raynor of Roxboro, NC. He is also survived by 8 brothers and sisters – Mable Lester of Philadelphia, PA; Ann Snipes of Roxboro, NC; Frank Lester of Roxboro, NC; Corine Lester of Philadelphia, PA; Melvin Lester (wife Peggie) of Roxboro, NC; Nannie Smith of Roxboro, NC; Dwight Lester (wife Mary) of Roxboro, NC and Larry W. Lester of Roxboro, NC.   Maxie Lester is also survived by two aunts – Annie Bell Lester and Esther Woods; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren and a host of additional relatives and friends.
