​Ms. Katie Tapp Kirby, age 90, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at her residence in Clayton, North Carolina. She was a native of Person County and a member of Shady Hill Baptist Church in Roxboro.

She was preceded in death by her parents Leonard Tapp and Daisy Ragland Tapp; and her husband McKinley Kirby.

Ms. Kirby is survived by two daughters Juanita Kirby Browder of Fortson, Georgia and Angelina Kirby of Clayton, North Carolina; one son Rikona Kirby of Durham, North Carolina; one sister Jennie White of Roxboro, North Carolina; one brother Walter Tapp of Greensboro, North Carolina; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a host of loving relatives and friends.
