Mr. Steve Joshua Jones, Sr., age 79, of Roxboro, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Person Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Person County and the son of the Late Walter Jones, Sr. and the Late Nannie Reid Jones.

In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by one son Calvin Wayne Jones; three sisters Dorothy Pettaway, Esther Outlaw, and Jacqueline Glover; and two brothers Fred Whitted, Sr. and Walter “Bubba” Jones, Jr.​  

Steve is survived by his loving wife Mary Ellen Pettiford Jones of the home; two sons Steve Joshua Jones, Jr. (wife Barbara) of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Clarence Anthony Jones of Fitchburg, Massachusetts; two sisters Janice Bright (husband Clyde) of Roxboro, North Carolina and Nancy Brown of Baltimore, Maryland; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, additional relatives and friends.
