​Mr. John Vanstory Jackson, age 90, entered eternal rest on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at Rose Manor Healthcare Center in Durham, North Carolina. Mr. Jackson was a native of Person County. He was preceded in death by his parents Stephen and Annie Beard, wife Effie Clayton Jackson, eight brothers and four sisters.

He is survived by six children -- Joyce Jackson Hall of St. Albans, New York; Mildred Jackson of Roxboro, North Carolina; Sharon Jackson Dixon (husband Joe D. Jr.) of Durham, North Carolina; Johnny Jackson, Jr.; Brenda Hollingsworth and Teresa Jean Jackson, all of Roxboro, North Carolina; one sister Magdalene Ragland of Durham, North Carolina; two sisters-in-law Ophelia Jackson and Yvonne Beard; ten grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren, and additional relatives and friends.
