Geneva Clayton Petty, age 70, of 2157 East Hyco Road in South Boston, Virginia passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016  at her home.

Geneva Clayton Petty was a member of the Prospect Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she was the president of the Missionary Circle, and a member of the Spiritual Choir, and the Culinary Committee. Geneva Clayton Petty is survived by two sons -- Steven J. Petty (wife Cynthia) of Roxboro, North Carolina and Stanley K. Petty of South Boston, Virginia.  She is also survived by her brother, Ulysses Clayton of Asheboro, North Carolina; three sisters-in-law -- Aldean Petty of Florida; Barbara Petty of Washington, DC and Frances Petty of Michigan.; and two grandchildren – Cinzia A. Petty of Roxboro, North Carolina and Stavanna A Petty of Roxboro, North Carolina in addition to a host of additional relatives and friends.

Mary Thorpe Davis, age 81, of Roxboro, North Carolina passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at her home. 

Mary Thorpe Davis is survived by her husband,  Arthur G. Davis, Sr and three children– Phyllis Davis Smith (husband Dennis) of Roxboro, NC; Arthur “Tree” Davis Jr (wife Joyce) of Timberlake, NC; and Joyce Ann Davis Yarbrough of Roxboro, NC.  She is also survived by eight brothers and sisters – Christeen Torian of Roxboro, NC; Shirley Burton of Chapel Hill, NC; Chuck Thorpe of Roxboro, NC; William “Ed” Thorpe of Roxboro, NC; Jimmy Lee Thorpe of Florida; Chester Thorpe of Mebane, NC; Patricia Hatchett of Roxboro, NC and Barbara Ann Murphy of Woodbridge, VA. 

Mary Thorpe Davis is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren in addition to a host of additional relatives and friends.
