Magnolia Blackwell Clayton, age 88, wife of the late Thurman Davis Clayton Sr, departed this earthly life on Tuesday April 19, 2016 at Kernersville Medical Center in Kernersville NC. Daughter of the late Rufus Clay Blackwell Sr. and Inez Brooks Blackwell was born on August 6, 1927 in Roxboro NC. She was a lifelong member of Shady Hill Baptist Church in Roxboro NC. She attended Person County Schools and was a member of the Class of 1947.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Carolyn Liles (Walter Liles); three brothers, Samuel Blackwell ( Lillie ); Zeb Blackwell (Alice). and William Blackwell, three sisters-in-law , Hallie Blackwell , Janie Clayton and Addie Roberts (Robert) and She is survived by two children, Andrea Clayton(Deangelo Bell) and Thurman Clayton Jr. (Angela); four grandchildren; Monique, Thurman III , George Clayton and Xavier Bell .Two brothers, Rufus Blackwell Jr. (Maryzelle) and Clarence Blackwell; two brothers-in-law Theasous Clayton Sr. (Eva) and William Clayton Sr.; sisters -in-law Lois Blackwell and Christine Pope; and many nieces nephews cousins and friends.
